What is the difference between a Highlight & Balayage?
The main difference between highlights and balayage comes down to technique, placement, and overall look:
-
Highlights use foils to lighten specific strands from root to tip, creating a more uniform and defined contrast between the lightened pieces and your natural color. They typically give a brighter, more structured look and can require more frequent touch-ups to maintain the color near the roots.
-
Balayage is a freehand painting technique where lightener is swept onto the hair’s surface for a softer, more natural gradient. It creates a sun-kissed effect with a gradual transition between shades, usually starting lower on the hair shaft, so it grows out more seamlessly and requires less maintenance.
If you want bold brightness, highlights might be your pick; if you’re after a low-maintenance, natural blend, balayage is the go-to.
Do I need to shampoo my hair?
Absolutely not! A shampoo is part of all services at no extra charge. It is my duty to ensure you have the full salon experience. Unless instructed otherwise, I only ask that you come with your hair detangled and free of heavy product.
How should my hair be prepped for my service?
Please make sure your hair is detangled and free of heavy product. It is not a required to come with your hair already shampooed, but I do ask that your hair is not stocked with heavy product prior to a color service.
If I cancel my appointment then reschedule, will I have to pay another deposit?
Yes.
Deposits are non-refundable, but transferable once during your confirmation window. We are very flexible in our booking approach, and we ask that you respect our time as we do yours.
